Abatement Contractor Prequalification
Contractors wishing to conduct asbestos abatement activities on any Michigan State University (MSU) project must first be prequalified by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). Contractors selected for prequalification will be approved every calendar year and will need to reapply for the next calendar year.
Please note the following changes to the asbestos abatement contractor prequalification process for 2027:
- There will no longer be a Modified Abatement Prequalification Application. All contractors will need to submit their applications annually during the application window.
- MSU is now subject to Michigan Act 59 of 2024 (Public Entity Asbestos Removal Verification Act). The prequalification application has been updated and will be screened accordingly.
