EHS conducts training to ensure MSU personnel follow safe work practices and to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements in lab and occupational safety and environmental health.

Ability Upgrade and Outage July 15 - July 20, 2026

A new version of Ability LMS will launch on July 20, 2026! To ensure continued service, security, and support for the platform from the software vendor, a mandatory upgrade to the Ability Learning Management System will take place from July 15 - July 20, 2026. More information

  Supervisors are ultimately responsible for ensuring employees have received appropriate training.

  Starting in 2023, site-specific training will be tracked in Ability LMS. Instructions and more information

Simplify compliance with new lab safety tracks

To simplify training assignment and compliance reporting, EHS now offers three groups of commonly required lab safety courses. Select the one track that best corresponds to risks in your lab.

Supervisors can contact ORRS.train@msu.edu for assistance removing individual tracks from employees and transitioning to using Lab Safety tracks.
