Damaged asbestos containing materials must be handled by trained and licensed staff. If you suspect damaged asbestos containing materials exist in your area, contact EHS immediately at 353-8956 or 355-0153.

I am planning a project in a building built before 1981. Is asbestos the only hazardous material I need to be concerned about while planning?
No. Lead, Polychlorinated Biphenyl’s (PCB’s), Elemental Mercury, Mold, and various Universal Wastes must all be considered in project design. Contact EHS for additional information and assistance.

I have a job in a building or room that is not listed in the database. Does this mean there is no asbestos present?
No. Although all buildings on campus have been surveyed, it will take time to complete the database. If you are working in an area not listed on the website, contact EHS for more information.
