Reagents

This category of waste is only for submitting chemical reagents for disposal that are in the original manufacturer’s bottle. Chemicals can be searched by both name and CAS Number. The list of chemical reagents includes the most common reagents utilized at MSU and is not an exhaustive list. If your chemical is not identified in the drop down menu, you will receive a pop-up window indicating you need to select either Hazardous Waste Liquid, or Hazardous Waste Solid based on the state of matter of your waste. The chemical name should then be entered into the description box.

If submitting a large amount (i.e. >50 bottles) of chemicals for disposal, creating an Excel spreadsheet list of the materials to be disposed of is best. The spreadsheet must include the location of the materials, the contact person information, the chemical name, number and size of the bottles. The list can then be emailed to hazwaste@msu.edu and a member of the EHS Hazardous Waste Group will coordinate the disposal with you.
