EHS Now Reporting to Executive Vice President for Administration (EVPA)

Effective July 1, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) has formally transitioned to report to the Executive Vice President for Administration (EVPA).

The transition of EHS into the EVPA portfolio provides an opportunity to further strengthen the team’s role as a vital partner in assuring university-wide safety and compliance. The new organizational structure–with a dotted-line report to the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI)–enhances enterprise visibility and strengthens coordination between both academic and operational partners, all while maintaining strong support for MSU’s research and academic mission. Much of EHS’s work goes unseen, reflecting how effective their work is in preventing issues and reinforcing consistent safety and compliance practices across campus.

It is important to note that EHS remains fully operational, and there will be no change to day-to-day services, support, or points of contact for campus partners. Jamie Willard, Ph.D., will continue to serve as interim director of EHS while the search for a permanent executive director is ongoing.
