Dr. Pradyot (Peter) Chowdhury Joins EHS FRIB Safety Program

Dr. Pradyot (Peter) Chowdhury has joined the EHS FRIB safety program. Dr. Chowdhury comes to us with 6 years of combined experience as a Radiation Safety Officer for the University of Rochester Medical Center and the University of Arkansas and an additional 19 years of experience as a Health Physicist and Research Scientist. He has a PhD in Physical Science and is a Certified Health Physicist.
Dr. Chowdhury will assist the Radiation Safety Officer with the development, implementation, and oversight of Michigan State University’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) Nuclear Regulatory Commission Type A Broad Scope License including: protecting people and the environment from radioactivity, ensure proper and safe working conditions for all, and assess potential environmental impact.
